DESCRIPTION: The Apostle Paul’s Letter to the Romans is considered by many scholars to be the most foundational of Christian writings. Paul here presents the idea, perhaps in its most comprehensive form, that the gospel – the “good news” of Jesus – is the solution to humanity’s biggest problem. The gospel is what is needed to address both self-indulgent paganism and self-righteous religiosity. God’s counterintuitive solution to mankind’s problem of sins is a “righteousness that is by faith” – a salvation of grace. This study will cover the first 5 chapters of Romans. The study is 5 lessons long.
